April 28, 2023POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The No. 9 Pearl River softball team showed their mettle in two come-from-behind wins in a sweep of No. 5 Northwest Friday at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats relied on strong pitching, nine strikeouts, and stonewall defense in a 2-1 game one win. Game two was more of the same, with 11 strikeouts and along with eight hits as the Wildcats erased a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3. -

Rogers pitches no-hitter against rival Gulf Coast
April 11, 2023PERKINSTON, Miss. — The No. 11 Pearl River softball team put on a pitching clinic Tuesday night, striking out 25 batters in a series split against archrival Gulf Coast. Brinson Anne Rogers (Statesboro, Ga.) struck out 15 batters in a 2-1 no-hitter game two victory. Natalie Herrington (Petal) struck out 10 in a strong pitching performance in a 1-0 game one loss. "In rivalry games, you have to come ready to play; not getting swept when you are on the road is a big deal," PRCC head coach Christie Meeks said of the split with Gulf Coast. "Both pitchers pitched well enough to win both games." -
No. 13 Pearl River splits top 15 battle with No. 8 Co-Lin
April 04, 2023WESSON, Miss. — The No. 13 Pearl River softball team used a three-run seventh inning in the doubleheader nightcap to secure a split against No. 8 Copiah-Lincoln Wednesday night in Wesson. The Wildcats dropped a challenging game one 9-5 but bounced back in a big way with a 4-1 game two victory.
