Pearl River volleyball unveils 2025 schedule with 11 home matches

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River head volleyball coach Haley Chatham announced the 2025 schedule Thursday. The Wildcats will host 11 matches in Shivers Gymnasium.

The Wildcats will rely on a large sophomore class as they look to build on their 2024 Region 23 semifinal appearance.

2025 SCHEDULE
Pearl River opens the season with a homestand in Shivers Gymnasium. The opener will see the Wildcats face Bishop State Aug. 21. They stay at home to host Coastal Alabama-North and first-year program East Central in a round-robin tournament Aug. 23. The River will host Southwest to complete the homestand Aug. 27.

PRCC will close out August on the road at the Pensacola State Tournament Aug. 29-30. The Wildcats will face Calhoun and Pensacola State on day one of the tournament, followed by Kansas City and Gadsden State on day two.

Pearl River will travel to Perkinston for the first-ever matchup with Gulf Coast Sept. 1 before hosting Jones Sept. 3. The River will travel to Andalusia, Ala., for the Lurleen B. Wallace Tournament Sept. 5-6, facing Santa Fe, Lawson State, Coastal Alabama-South and the host. They'll remain on the road to face Northeast Sept. 10 before returning home Sept. 15 to host East Central.

PRCC travels to Itawamba Sept. 17 and hosts Meridian Sept. 22. The Wildcats will face Northwest in back-to-back matches to close out the month — traveling to Northwest Sept. 24 before returning home Sept. 29.

October opens with the Wildcats on the road. On Oct. 1, PRCC will travel to Meridian before participating in the Bishop State Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala., Oct. 3-4. In the tournament, the Wildcats will square off with Lurleen B. Wallace, Snead State, Gadsden State and United States Sports Academy. Pearl River returns home to host Itawamba Oct. 6.

The Wildcats hit the road again Oct. 8 to play East Central and will participate in the Snead State Tournament in Boaz, Ala., Oct. 10-11. The River will host Northeast Oct. 13 and travel to Mobile Oct. 16 to face Bishop State.

PRCC will face two rivals in back-to-back matches, traveling to Jones Oct. 20 and returning home to host Gulf Coast Oct. 22.

Pearl River will close out October on the road, traveling to Brewton, Ala., Oct. 25 to play Andrew College and Coastal Alabama-North. The Wildcats wrap up the regular season at Southwest Oct. 27.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
With a growing MACCC, Chatham will rely on a trio of returners to help set the pace in 2025. Setter Skyla Rann (Gonzales, La.; East Ascension) finished the 2024 campaign with 442 assists. Outside hitter Avery Wheat (Gonzales, La.; East Ascension) had 271 kills in 2024, and middle blocker Morgan Mears (Hurley; East Central) had 270 kills and 94 total blocks.

Tickets for the 2025 Pearl River volleyball season are available now at PRCCAthletics.com/Tickets. Advance-purchase tickets are $8, while gameday tickets are $10. Season passes will be on sale soon for $63 plus fees.
