Pearl River softball announces 2026 campaign

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Pearl River softball program has released its 2026 schedule, which features early-season marque matchups and a rugged MACCC slate. The Wildcats are fresh off 36-17 season in 2025, finishing one game short of a trip to the NJCAA World Series.

REGULAR SEASON
The Wildcats open the year at home Jan. 28 with a doubleheader against Bishop State before traveling to Youngsville, La., for the Mardi Gras Invitational Jan. 31. Pearl River then heads to Panama City Beach, Fla., to compete in the JUCO Softball Showdown Feb. 6-7.

PRCC returns home Feb. 9 to host Lurleen B. Wallace before traveling to LSU Eunice for a Feb. 14 round-robin against Jefferson College and the host Bengals. The Wildcats close the month with a road matchup at Wallace State-Hanceville Feb. 23.

A four-game homestand follows, beginning with a Feb. 27 doubleheader against Chipola and concluding March 3 with a twin bill versus Pensacola State. Pearl River wraps up nonconference play March 6 with a return trip to Chipola to complete a home-and-home series.

MACCC play opens with back-to-back road trips at Southwest March 10 and Northeast March 14. Rival Jones College visits Poplarville March 18 before PRCC travels to East Mississippi March 21.

The Wildcats then host three consecutive conference series, welcoming Gulf Coast March 24, Coahoma March 28 and Copiah-Lincoln March 31. Road trips to Itawamba April 3 and Meridian April 7 follow.

Mississippi Delta and Hinds visit Wildcat Stadium April 11 and April 15, respectively. The road portion of the schedule closes with trips to Holmes April 17 and East Central April 21. The regular season concludes April 25 with Northwest visiting Poplarville.

POSTSEASON
The Region 23 Tournament opens April 30 with the play-in round, followed by two four-team regionals May 1-3 hosted by the top two teams in the MACCC standings. The Region 23 Championship is scheduled for May 6, with both finalists earning automatic berths to the NJCAA World Series, set for May 18-23.

TICKETS
Season and single-game tickets will be on sale soon at PRCCAthletics.com/tickets. Single-game tickets will be $9 if purchased in advance or $11 if purchased on gameday.
