PRCC striker nets MACJC Player of the Week honor

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River's Rena Gordon punctuated a standout week on the pitch by netting the MACJC's weekly Offensive Player of the Week honor Tuesday.

Gordon had a breakout performance last week in an 8-0 win over Southwest. The Clarendon, Jamaica, native has been PRCC's leader in the attack all season but hadn't had an offensive outburst until Wednesday.

Against the visiting Lady Bears, Gordon netted four goals and assisted on a fifth.

Gordon is the MACJC's second leading scorer with 10.

Fresh off of their most convincing win of the season, the Lady Wildcats (4-4, 2-2 MACJC South) are back on the pitch Tuesday night against No. 14 Holmes (9-0, 4-0). The 5 p.m. match will be live streamed at PRCCAthletics.com.
