JASPER, Ala. — The Pearl River women's golf team wrapped up play at the Jefferson State Women's Fall Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 12th overall after carding a 268-over-par total across two days at Musgrove Country Club.  

Pearl River opened play Monday with a team score of 426, finishing 142-over par on the day. Leading the Wildcats was Berklie Dunn (Mobile, Ala.; Faith Academy), who turned in a team-best round of 95, highlighted by a strong 46 on the back nine. 

Maya Morelos (Grambling, La.; Ruston) followed closely behind, posting a 102 in her opening round, also highlighted by a 48 on the back nine. Abigail Futch (Gulfport; St. Patrick) rounded out the top three for Pearl River, carding a 107 to finish third among the Wildcat golfers. 

Savannah Madigan (Long Beach) was the fourth to tee off for Pearl River, recording a 122 on the day. Eva Ward (Columbus; Caledonia) completed the lineup for the Wildcats, turning in a 128, which included a solid 60 on the front nine. 

Day two for Pearl River was their best, finishing with a 410, 126 over par, and finishing the tournament with a final score of 268 over par. Dunn led the way yet again for the Wildcats, carding a 90 with consistent rounds of 45 on both the front and back nine. 

Morelos followed Pearl River, carding a 95 in the second round that included a 46 on the back nine. Futch was next for the Wildcats, finishing with a 35-over-par 106, highlighted by a front-nine 52. 

Madigan opened her round with a front-nine 59 and followed it up with a 60 on the back to finish with a total score of 119. Rounding out the day for the Wildcats was Ward, who carded a 127 that included a 62 on the back nine.
