MARSHALL, Mo. — The Pearl River rodeo team competed for the first time in the 2025-26 season, starting the year at the Missouri Valley College rodeo.
Both the men's and women's teams earned a sixth-place finish.
MEN'S RESULTS
Bryson Crawford and Tate Joiner each advanced to the short-go in calf roping. Joiner turned in a stellar 10.1 second run to win the opening round and followed it with a 12.4 in the second round to finish fourth overall in the average. Crawford advance to the short-go with a time of 12.9 seconds in the opening round but couldn't manage a time in the second.
Tyler Porter had a stellar showing in the first round of steer wrestling, finishing with a 4.2-second round to sit in second place heading into the short go. He unfortunately couldn't secure a time in his second attempt.
Rowdy Weaver's score of 81 in bull riding placed him second as he headed into the short go, but he couldn't complete his ride in the second round and was given no score.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Gentry Wilson won third place in the first round of breakaway roping with a time of 3.2 seconds. She was unable to earn a time in the second round.

The Wildcats head to the West Alabama rodeo Sept. 25-27 in Livingston, Ala.
