CASPER, Wyo. — The College National Finals Rodeo is just a few days away from getting underway and a pair of Wildcats are set to compete.

Kate Eiland (Kentwood, La.) and Jay Rodrique (Ethel, La.) earned a spot after being named Ozark Region Reserve Champion in breakaway roping and bull riding, respectively. For Eiland, it's her second consecutive CNFR after finishing 16th overall in breakaway roping as a freshman.

"I feel like Jay can win a National Championship if he draws the right bulls. He's an outstanding talent," head coach Frank Graves said. "Kate has a chance to make some noise and win a title too, especially after going out there last year. I'm really excited about going out there with these two."

Rodrigue will compete for the first time June 15 in the matinee, beginning at 4 p.m. He will have a day off before returning to action June 17 in the 7 a.m. slack. Rodrigue's performance round will be June 18 at 7 p.m. Rodrigue will compete against 35 other bull riders.

Eiland will also compete in the June 15 matinee, beginning at 4 p.m. On June 16, Eiland will go in the slack at 7 a.m. Her performance round will be June 19 at 7 p.m. Eiland will go up against 61 other competitors throughout the week.

The College National Finals Rodeo has expanded television coverage of the CNFR. All performance rounds Tuesday-Saturday will be available on ESPN3 via the ESPN App or a cable subscription.
