Pearl River soccer standouts land on United Soccer Coaches All-America team

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River men's soccer's historic season has continued into the offseason as standout midfielders Ryley Smith (Manchester, England.; Castlebrook) and Andre Nicholson (Kingston, Jamaica.; Clarendon College) have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America team.

The duo were an instrumental part of Pearl River's incredible 2021 season that saw the Wildcats finish with a 12-1-4 record and make their first Division II NJCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Nicholson and Smith were valuable in creating goals for a Wildcat team that finished the year with 43 goals. 

ANDRE NICHOLSON
Nicholson was a creative midfielder who was a threat every time that the ball was at his feet. The 5-foot-8 Nicholson finished the year tied for third on the team with five goals while assisting on four goals. 

RYLEY SMITH
Smith based as the Wildcat attacking midfielder and created a lot of goals for the Wildcat attack. 

The sophomore finished the year with five goals and tied for the team lead in assists with seven of them.
