POPLARVILLE, Miss.— For the second week in a row Pearl River's soccer programs have produced the Forrest Health Wildcats of the Week as Paige Horsnell (London; England) and Miguel Hernandez (Gulfport) have picked up the latest honors.
The reigning MACJC Goalkeeper of the Week, Horsnell stood tall in goal last week during PRCC's 1-1 double-overtime tie with East Central. Horsnell turned away six shots to help give the undefeated Wildcats (5-0-2) a chance in the contest.
Horsnell is 5-0-2 on the year with a 0.84 goals against average and .714 save percentage.
Hernandez has taken his offensive game to the next level recently. The freshman forward scored a goal and added an assist in PRCC's 6-0 win over East Central last week. He also deflected an ECCC clearance into the Warriors' net.
Hernandez currently leads Pearl River (5-0-1) with four goals.
The Wildcats are back in action Tuesday with a 2 p.m. kickoff at Itawamba. The match will be streamed at LetsGoICCTV.com.
