MERIDIAN, Miss. — Pearl River's men's golf team finished ninth Tuesday at the Lou Hart Invitational, posting a 43-over-par total across two rounds at Northwood Country Club.
Riley Barnett led the Wildcats with a two-round total of 151. He opened with a 1-over 73, recording birdies on three of the four par-5 holes, and followed with a 7-over 78. Barnett finished his second round with 12 pars, including seven in a row on the front nine.
Jeremiah Cochran also had three birdies in the opening round, including one on the par-3 seventh. He shot 77 in the second round, adding a birdie on the par-5 14th and stringing together six consecutive pars.
Seth Tubb posted rounds of 76-76. He played the back nine at even par in the first round, the team's best nine-hole stretch of the day, and added two birdies in the second round.
Bo Ashley rebounded from an opening-round 81 to lead Pearl River on Tuesday with a 4-over 75. He recorded birdies on the par-3 second and par-5 16th holes.
William Dickerson carded an 86 in the first round with 10 pars, then added two birdies in the second round, including one on the par-4 fifth hole.
Sean Stiglets finished 27-over par for the tournament. He opened with an 85 and closed strong in the second round, playing his final four holes at 1-under par.
