11 former PRCC men's basketball players making mark across college basketball

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — From small-town Poplarville to campuses across the country, former Pearl River Wildcats are showcasing the work ethic, development and competitiveness that have become hallmarks of the program.

Eleven former Pearl River men's basketball players are continuing their careers at the four-year level: Dylan Brumfield(Southern Miss), Joah Chappelle (Georgia State), Ezereke Dawson Jr. (Georgia Gwinnett), Austin Green (UMass Lowell), Krystian Lewis (Louisiana-Monroe), Mason Lewis (Eastern University), Kedrick Osby (New Orleans), Dyllion Redmond (Belhaven), Dylan Sanders (Colorado State Pueblo), Ta'Zir Smith (Robert Morris) and Carlous Williams (Tennessee State).

DYLAN BRUMFIELD
Brumfield was a two-year starter for the Wildcats from 2021–23, appearing in 47 games and averaging 12.6 points as a sophomore. After a season at William Carey, he transferred to Southern Miss, where he is averaging 4.7 points and 1.9 rebounds. The Golden Eagles enter tonight's matchup against Radford at 4–3. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

JOAH CHAPPELLE
Chappelle played one season at Pearl River, averaging 16.3 points and 7.8 rebounds while starting all 30 games. He has stepped into a major role at Georgia State, starting all nine games and averaging 9.2 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Panthers look to regroup Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. against Kennesaw State on ESPN+.

EZEREKE DAWSON JR.
Dawson started all 31 games during his 2023–24 season at Pearl River, averaging 10 points and 7.3 rebounds before transferring to Georgia Gwinnett. He has appeared in all 10 games this year, starting six, and is averaging 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds. Georgia Gwinnett (8–2) faces Midway (Ky.) on Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. in the Cumberlands Classic, streamed at Cumberlandspatriots.com.

AUSTIN GREEN
Green was Pearl River's leading scorer during his lone season in Poplarville, averaging 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists and scoring in double figures in 25 of 26 games. After transferring to Texas State and later UMass Lowell, he has continued to excel. Green is averaging 13.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He posted 14 points in a win over Stonehill and 15 against Emerson as the River Hawks went 2–0 last week. UMass Lowell returns to action Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. against UMass.

KRYSTIAN LEWIS
Lewis started all 31 games during his season at Pearl River, averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. At Louisiana-Monroe, he has earned a starting role in all seven games, averaging 12 points and 3.6 rebounds. The Warhawks host Mississippi Valley State tonight at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.

MASON LEWIS
Lewis appeared in 26 games with five starts during the 2024–25 season before transferring to Eastern University. He is averaging 4.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 18 minutes per contest. Eastern (2–4) faces Salisbury University tonight at 7 p.m. on team1sports.com.

KEDRICK OSBY
An All-MACCC selection last season, Osby averaged 16.3 points while shooting 48 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from three and 81.8 percent at the line. At New Orleans, he has contributed to marquee wins over TCU and Tulane. Osby is averaging 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. UNO travels to Memphis tonight for a 7 p.m. tip on ESPN+.

DYLLION REDMOND
Redmond played in 51 games over two seasons at Pearl River before transferring to Belhaven, where he averaged three points and 2.7 rebounds in 12 minutes per game last season. Belhaven faces Whitman on Dec. 6 at 3 p.m., streamed on go.flocollege.com (subscription required).

DYLAN SANDERS
Sanders started 30 of 31 games during his season at Pearl River, averaging 10.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals. Now at Colorado State Pueblo, he is averaging 7.5 points in 17.7 minutes while shooting 37.5 percent from three, helping the ThunderWolves start 5–1. CARLOUS WILLIAMS
Williams appeared in 49 games across two seasons at Pearl River, averaging 16.5 points and 6.7 rebounds as a sophomore. After signing with Tulsa, he transferred to Tennessee State, where he has started every game this season. Williams is averaging 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds while helping the Tigers open 5–3. Tennessee State visits Alabama A&M tonight at 7 p.m. on tv.swac.org
