Pearl River's Kedrick Triplett named MACCC's top offensive player

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River football's Kedrick Triplett (Florence, Ala.) turned in a game-changing performance last Thursday, and for his efforts he has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

With Triplett's selection, Pearl River won 2 of 3 of the conference's weekly awards. Cory Jackson (Petal) was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Triplett made the most of his opportunities in the Wildcats' thrilling 48-42 win over Itawamba, hauling in just three receptions but turning them into 158 yards and two touchdowns. His night was highlighted by an 88-yard go-ahead touchdown, a play that ultimately proved to be the decisive blow in the shootout victory.

Triplett's 158 receiving yards marked the most by a Pearl River wideout since 2020, when Latreal Jones recorded 171 yards against Southwest.

Through two games, Triplett has established himself as one of the nation's most dangerous playmakers. He has caught 11 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns, leading the MACCC in both receiving yards and touchdowns. Nationally, he ranks second in yards and is tied for second in touchdowns.
