POPLARVILLE, Miss. — For the fourth time this season Landon Gartman (Bogue Chitto; Enterprise) has been named Mississippi's best. On Tuesday, the league announced that the Wildcat right-hander has been named MACCC Pitcher of the Week.
The latest honor comes after Gartman bamboozled No. 7 Meridian's hitters in a 4-1 victory.
During the seven-inning contest, the Memphis signee surrendered one unearned run on three hits without any walks. He also struck out a career-high 12 batters.
Gartman has had a dominant season for the No. 3 Wildcats. The right-hander is 6-0 in eight starts and leads the team in innings pitched (42), strikeouts (51) and ERA (1.71). His 1.048 WHIP is tops on the Wildcat staff as well.
Not only do Gartman's numbers stack up against his PRCC peers, but they're some of the best in the country. Gartman is tied for third in Division II in wins, seventh in ERA and 16th in strikeouts.

Due to inclement weather forecast in Summit, PRCC's next doubleheader has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Southwest. The Wildcats return to Dub Herring Park on Saturday to host Mississippi Delta at 2 p.m.
