Pearl River's women's soccer team scored four goals in the second half of Saturday's MACJC South road matchup to top Southwest 4-1.
The victory completes a season sweep of the Lady Bears after PRCC (6-6-1, 3-2-1 South) won the Poplarville match 8-0.
The two teams played a scoreless first half but the Lady Wildcats broke the scoreless tie minutes into the second half. Southwest quickly knotted the game back up but the Lady Wildcats scored three more unanswered goals to clinch the victory.
Shelby Harrington (Oak Grove) scored twice to notch her first career goals in the victory. Rena Gordon (Clarendon, Jamaica) and Kaley Smith (Lucedale; George County) scored the other goals. The goal was Smith's first of the 2018 campaign. Skylar Spears (Clarkdale) assisted on one of Harrington's goals as well as Smith's. Gordon assisted on Harrington's second goal and Grace Sanders (Oak Grove) assisted on Gordon's goal.
PRCC returns to action Tuesday with a road matchup at Meridian before closing out the home portion of the regular season schedule Friday against Jones College.
