Pearl River dominates Southwest

SUMMIT, Miss. — The Pearl River men's soccer team finished the regular season strong defeating the Southwest Bears 6-0 Saturday.

The win completed the season sweep for the Wildcats (9-2-1 overall, 9-1-1 MACJC) over Southwest.

"We did well. We played everyone we wanted to," head coach Drew Gallant said.

"We got to play a lot of people and that helps with depth. It was nice to just go out and get a dominant win like that on the road."

Tres Ray (Poplarville) followed that up with a goal of his own in the 11th minute to give the Wildcats the 2-0 lead over the Bears (2-11-1, 0-8)

Miguel Hernandez (Gulfport) scored one last goal right before halftime in the 43rd minute to extend the Wildcat lead to three.

Ray scored his second goal of the night in the 70th minute to make it a 4-0 game.
